Overall, a well written novel that is sure to delight fans of this scene. I believe it also acts as a good introduction to the genre, particularly as the main character is only beginning to explore the BDSM world for herself. There will be some spoilers to follow.
The beats of the story are predictable, but that does not have to be a bad thing. After all, how you tell the stories is what makes them interesting. Still, I think the plot would benefit from at least one more twist or turn, particularly in the last act. And although the ending felt inevitable, I'm not sure I bought it. It seemed a little too easy, or not 'hard earned' enough.
Furthermore, I was never really rooting for Marissa and Sully to be together; perhaps in a world where sex is everything maybe they can work together. But perhaps I am one of the unenlightened. It could be the fact that we rarely see them interact in a non-sexual environment, or that we never see them tested by many of life's endless hurdles which leads me to the question of how indeed could they ever endure?
While the book mainly focuses on Merissa, there are several other supporting character call girls moving in and out of the background. This can be distracting at times, particularly in the book's opening when it seems difficult to keep track of all of the ladies. There may be a way for the author to lessen the amount of information provided for these characters, particularly as most of it does not become pertinent to the story. However, I understand that the author is weaving an overall narrative throughout a series of novels, and these supporting characters will spearhead their own stories. With that in mind, I admire the author for taking on such an admirable task.
The novel suffers from numerous typos, quite enough to turn this to a 3 star review, but personally I feel this is something that can be easily solved, and it would be unfair to let this weigh heavily against the book, as for the most part it is well written.
Lastly, I was also surprised at how funny this book was too. The author has a great sense of humour. Good job! I think there are some minimalist things the author can do to elevate this work further.

Call Girls 2 Merissa edition by Emma Jaye Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I say that because while many of us can relate to kink, not everyone can make the mental leap to 'selling oneself'. Merissa's inner struggle with becoming a prostitute vs. what the lifestyle allows her to experience sexually is sensitively portrayed. The characters are well fleshed out (ahem) and the storyline is not just an excuse to present endless sex scenes.. although you will not be disappointed! Pretty smokin'...
I haven’t read erotica for years…and years…. Well, not since my mother found a dog-eared copy of Candy under my mattress. (It was being passed around by my teen friends at the time.)
I agreed to review this book and thought, “I can do this.” I will read this book and provide an honest review.
First off, I was sucked into the story. The author has a sense of humor. The book has a plot, the characters are fun, and boy, oh boy, did I get an education! There were a few minor typo’s some may find detracting, but not me, the story was too interesting. Fast read. Faster if you don't re-read certain passages.
A fun, entertaining and educational read.
I would have not been able to manage the research.
I'd have to say this book was very eye-opening. I don't know much at all about the BDSM world and reading those types of books isn't usually my cup of tea.
The story of Merissa is an in-depth, yet well written look at one girl's exploratory journey into her own secret desires. I had a little trouble connecting with the male lead, but I think that is perhaps because I don't have any submissive tendencies. It was obvious that he was exactly what Merissa needed, though. The intricate way in which the author described each "scene" wove a very clear mental picture so that there was no confusion on my part as to what was happening, even though I'm unfamiliar with the practices.
All in all, it was an entertaining story filled with excitement, fear, love and fulfillment. 4 stars
